Until November 27, Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Realizacji Inwestycji (Municipal Investments Enterprise) in Warsaw will be collecting bids with a deposit of 2.3 million PLN concerning modernization and extension of the Ks. J. Popiełuszko Bielański Hospital in the area of Marymoncka and Cegłowska streets. The investment, designed by Atelier Tektura, is going to entail construction of a 5-story building with a total area of 9,700 sqm (8,500 sqm net) and renovation of a part of the existing complex with a net area of approx. 4,300 sqm. The new building, connected to the other ones, is going to house a 10-room surgery suite, intensive therapy wards, post-operative and psychiatric wards, and rehabilitation center. The works are to be carried out using the BIM method (building information modeling) and should take 3 years. Two years ago, the Warsaw City Council granted a subsidy of 108 million PLN for the investment.
Bielański Hospital has been operating since 1960. It has a cubature of 160,000 meters3, 712 beds and employs approx. 1,500 people. ■
