Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, has selected the contractor for its new headquarters in Warsaw. The tender was won by a consortium of companies from the Eiffage Group, with Eiffage Polska Budownictwo acting as the leader.
The main designer of the project is SUD Architectes. Arup's team contributed innovative solutions in the field of technical installations and sustainability. The project includes the construction of a seven-storey building with two underground levels, as well as site maintenance for a period of two years. The 69,000 m² building will be located in Warsaw at 132 Racławicka Street, next to Military Unit 3164 (Intelligence Agency).
The investment will draw on the expertise of Defor, a Polish subsidiary of Goyer specializing in custom façade solutions, also part of the Eiffage Group.
To meet ambitious environmental goals, Eiffage Construction plans to use low-emission concrete, photovoltaic panels on the roof, and a rainwater harvesting system to reduce natural resource consumption. A geothermal installation will ensure year-round thermal comfort. The investor aims to obtain BREEAM certification.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026, with completion expected in 2028. ■
